Teacher Education Program (Grades 9-12)

Students who major in political science can become certified to teach social studies in secondary schools, grades 9-12. Requirements include admission to, and successful completion of, an approved teacher education program. After declaration of a major in political science, students interested in teacher certification should declare a minor in education in the main office of the School of Education. A student should apply for admission to the Teacher Education Licensure Program the semester he/she is enrolled in EDFS 201 Introduction to Education.
