Comprehensive source of internship information on the web with full, up to date information on over 2,800 organizations offering internships and summer jobs for students. Internship listings that may be of interest include the following sectors: Community and Social Agencies, International Affairs, Women's Rights, Congressional, Human Rights, Washington Internships about Law and Policy.

Provides information about available internship, job, and volunteer opportunities as well as contact information for career mentors in Charleston and elsewhere.

Bard College Globalization and International Affairs Program (BGIA)

About BGIA
The Bard Globalization and International Affairs (BGIA) Program provides a unique opportunity for university students and recent graduates to combine the study of human rights law, civil society development, global political economy, ethics, humanitarian action, and writing on international affairs with substantive internships at international organizations engaged in these fields. BGIA is a residential program based in the Lincoln Center district of Midtown Manhattan. Student apartments, classrooms, and communal spaces are all located in a newly renovated building just two blocks from Central Park. Selection to BGIA is highly competitive. The program accepts up to 30 students each spring and fall semester, and 20 for the eight-week summer program in June and July.

Studying Abroad/International Internships

Studying abroad provides political science majors insight into other political, economic and cultural systems. These experiences enhance students' college experiences. Students interested in studying abroad need to plan their study abroad well in advance.

Academic Studies Abroad
Political science courses are offered in Florence, London, Aix-en-Provence, and Sevilla. Law classes are offered in Dublin at Griffith College Dublin, one of Ireland’s top rated private universities.

American Institute for Foreign Study
Political science courses are offered in Argentina, Australia, Austria, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Russia, South Africa, and Spain.

Institute for the International Education of Students
Study political science in Australia, Austria, Chile, China, England, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. Political economics is offered in Quito, Ecuador. Pre-law classes are offered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Diplomacy classes are offered in Christchurch, New Zealand. IES has scholarships and financial aid available. IES offers a unique European Union program based in Freiburg, Germany. A major component of this program is field work and the model EU simulation held every semester. Internships are available to EU students and are meant to expose them to working EU environments, and will require them to stay for a short period after the EU program has ended.

Lexia Study Abroad
Lexia focuses on field studies and immersing the student into a host culture. Countries include Argentina, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, and Turkey.

School for International Training Study Abroad
Forty-nine countries and thirty five languages including twenty six less commonly taught languages. Areas of study include environmental studies, the arts, development studies, gender studies, middle eastern and islamic studies, multicultural studies, peace and conflict studies, public health, social justice, and special themes such as education and social issues in Chile or history and cultures of the African diaspora in Ghana.

Study Australia
Choose one of seventeen schools in Australia and New Zealand to study any of the ninety six fields offered. Places to study in Australia are Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Wollongong, and Melbourne and in New Zealand you can choose to study in Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington, and Christchurch.

University of Virginia, Institute for Shipboard Education (Semester at Sea program)
Seventy courses are offered for spring and fall semesters. Spend a semester circumnavigating the globe, learning about and exploring different countries as you stop in 13 different ports. All stops give students the chance to interact with locals and participate in faculty led field studies.

Study Abroad at Temple University, Japan
The Tokyo Campus of Temple University has an enrollment of 2,200. Temple University Japan (TEJ) political science course offerings include; China: Politics and Revolution, East Asia and the United States, Current U.S. Foreign Relations, Japan in a Changing World. TEJ also offers Geography and Urban Studies courses. Courses include: Geography of World Affairs, Geography of East and South Asia, Metropolitan Tokyo, Architecture and Urbanism in Asia.
